Some Tips about
What to Bring
Dress for the tropics. Your holiday may include
beachcombing or a walking tour of an island. Winter temperatures
range from 50-60 degrees Fahrenheit at night to 75-85 during the
day. Summer temperatures are usually 10 degrees warmer.
Casual clothing that can be folded and
comfortable footwear will be in keeping with the weather and local
style. While planning, keep in mind that storage is very limited,
VERY LIMITED, aboard sailing vessels. Why stress out over what to
pack - it's a No-Brainer: A few shorts, tee shirts and a bathing
suite. The truth is, that after maniacally packing, you will use
less than half of what you have to lug through airports, into taxis,
and then back again! Ok, you can bring a bit more here's a reminder
list:
Bring 1 (one, uno) small, compact, folding duffle
type bag with:
Hat/Visor
Jacket
Sunscreen
Prescription Medications
Motion Sickness Tablets
Chap stick
Sunglasses
Eye-care items
CDs
A Good Book
Swimwear
Camera
Film
Walkman
Just enough outfits for the number of days on your trip
Port-Of-Call Documents: Sign of the times - not long ago, many kinds
of documents were accepted, but why chance it? Bring
your PASSPORT.
DON'T BRING
Forget the hard/Simi hard luggage, luggage with
wheels, even small wheels (they will damage the boat) Don't bring
hard or black sole shoes (They mark up the boat, and it's very
difficult to get off), high heels, wedgies, or the combat boots Aunt
Edna gave you for your birthday - we've seen all those, What were
they thinking?!
You MAY NOT Bring
Expensive jewelry, illegal substances, weapons,
dress clothes, and especially not your job. You're on vacation -
leave your job and your worries at home!
The captain and crew invite you to a day trip,
sunset cruise in the beautiful islands of Florida or the Bahamas. Or
you can plan an unforgettable trip to where your imagination soars.
So bring your wanderlust and sense of adventure, and leave your
troubles behind!
